Mary Achola

Mary Achola

Meet Achola

Achola’s journey with MaryFaith Children’s Center began in 2015 when she sought safety and support during a difficult chapter of her life. At MaryFaith, she found more than just shelter—she discovered a nurturing space where she could heal, grow, and thrive.

A Journey of Academic and Personal Growth
With the unwavering encouragement of MaryFaith’s dedicated team, Achola flourished both academically and personally. She completed high school and is now pursuing a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy at the university. Her dream is to become an ambassador and advocate for refugee children, using her education and experiences to create a brighter future for vulnerable children worldwide.

Healing Through Dance
Achola’s healing extended beyond the classroom. As a member of the Wastaarabu Dancers, she found solace and strength in dance. It became her outlet for self-expression, a tool for building confidence, and a way to connect with others. Dance helped Achola process her emotions and rediscover her sense of joy and empowerment.

A Future Full of Promise
Achola’s story is a powerful testimony to resilience and the transformative impact of care and support. She is determined to use her education, experiences, and passion to uplift others, proving that with the right foundation, children can overcome adversity and achieve their dreams.

What we offer

Education

We help our children to continue with their education in our school, Mary Faith Centre Academy.

Health provision

We provide both physical and emotional health to our children

Basic needs provision

We provide a safe home for our children where all their basic needs are met.

Why we exist

We provide a safe home for our children providing all their basic needs and helping them to understand what child sexual exploitation is. We provide food, medical care for the hurt and and a place to sleep.

We accommodate and support children who have been physically and sexually hurt but are now in our safe home and need to make sense of what’s happened. We provide therapeutic support to our children to help them recover from the effects of their physical and sexual abuse helping them understand that sexual exploitation is abuse and it’s not their fault.

We help our children to continue with their education. We have our school, Mary Faith Centre Academy where our children learn and we also work with the government to allow our students to sit for national exams in public schools when they get to the eighth grade. Our schools sit for their exams at the Riruta Satellite Primary School, a government public school.
