Become a Volunteer: Join Us in Transforming Lives
At MaryFaith Children’s Center, we are committed to providing the best care and opportunities for the children and young mothers we support. However, there are challenges we cannot overcome alone. With your help, we can create an even greater impact and help these children heal, thrive, and achieve their dreams.
How You Can Help
- Capacity Building:
Our centre is home to more children than its intended capacity. Your support can help us expand and improve our facilities to provide a safe and nurturing environment.
- Monetary contributions are critical for covering essential costs such as school fees, medical bills, food, utilities, uniforms, and court expenses.
- In-kind donations are also highly valued, including:
- Food: Maize flour, wheat flour, sugar, rice, beans, green grams, cooking oil, vegetables, fruits, and milk.
- Baby Essentials: Diapers, wipes, baby clothes.
- Hygiene Items: Soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, pads, detergents, baby oils, and body lotions.
- Household Items: Shoe polish, beddings, and water.
- School Supplies: Notebooks, pens, and educational materials.
- Medical Supplies.
- Clothing: Including bras, underwear, and general apparel for children.
- Educational Support:
Education is a key investment for our children, but it comes with significant costs. You can sponsor a child for one term, a year, or throughout their primary, secondary, or college education. - Mental Health and Wellness:
Many children in our care have experienced profound trauma and need specialized mental health support, including counseling and therapy. Volunteers with mental health expertise or donations toward professional counseling services can make life-changing differences. - Staffing Needs:
We are understaffed and would benefit greatly from additional volunteers or funding to hire trained professionals to provide personalized care and support. - Legal Advocacy:
Slow court systems often delay justice and reintegration efforts. Assistance with legal advocacy or covering associated costs can help resolve cases more efficiently.
